Mae Kham Pun’s life followed that of nearly all captive elephants of her age, which was logging until the ban was implemented in 1989 then into the tourist industry.
Now thanks to the support of her foster parents Mae Kham Pun no longer has to give rides or perform demanding tricks for entertainment. Mae Kham Pun is such a sweet girl who loves to take care of all the younger elephants at ChokChai, in particular PuKhao & MoLoPo. It is thought that PuKhao is pregnant and Kham Pun’s mahout thinks she is volunteering herself to be the nanny when the baby is born.
