Mo Jo Do’s life followed the tragic path of so many captive elephants working firstly in the logging industry and then moved into the tourist industry forced to give rides to tourists.
She has always been an introvert and has never allowed herself to become friends with other elephants. It’s likely that this is a result of the trauma of her past which has left her psychology damaged.
Since the Trunks Up intervention we had hoped that she would stat to open ip and build relationships with other elephants within the program. We have introduced her to many different elephants but she simply walks away. In time we are hopeful that she will find a friend that can help her heal from her trauma of her past.
