Mae Ta arrived at ChokChai elephant project very skinny and malnourished after she worked in the logging industry.
Since arriving at ChokChai she gained weight but was still used to provide rides to tourists, following the same monotonous routine daily with no opportunity to forage, play in the river or socialize.
Thanks to the support of our foster parents Mae Ta has made two new friends MoLa and Car Tui who she loves to spend time foraging and playing in the river with. It is so heartwarming to see her playing happily and simply enjoy the freedoms that should be afforded to all animals.
