Life got off to an unfortunate start for Honey, who was trained to be a performing elephant in shows, including bathing shows, playing instruments, dancing, and providing the welcome act for audiences at an elephant camp. After that, she was then forced to give rides to tourists, both with a saddle and bareback in during her 20s. She worked hard throughout her pregnancy, and gave birth to her daughter, Buay in 2010.
Over the years, people started to consider the suffering these activities caused elephants and a movement began to stop forcing elephants to undertake unnatural behaviors and allow them to live a more natural life. In 2014, Lek, the founder Save Elephant Foundation, was contacted in the hope of helping to make the transition to a more ethical model. With her collaboration, Journey to Freedom changed their ways so the elephants could live free from work. In 2015 Honey and her daughter, Buay, joined Journey to Freedom. Honey loves to stay with her daughter all the time. Honey is kind to people, but she is picky when it comes to food time!
