Thung Thong is an 18-year-old female elephant who spent much of her early life in chains.
From a young age, she was forced into street begging, working in harsh urban environments until she was 14. Years of confinement and instability left lasting physical and emotional impacts. Although she later entered a stay-home program, her future remained uncertain.
Today, Thung Thong is safe at Elephant Nature Park, where she has begun adjusting to a life free from fear and control. One of the most meaningful parts of her journey has been reuniting with her best friend, Nam Phueng who was rescued on December 27th, 2025. Together, they are finding comfort, reassurance, and strength in one another as they settle into sanctuary life.
With time, care, and the freedom to choose her own path, Thung Thong is beginning to heal.
